The role involves organizing and making sense of a wide variety of project data, proof of income, receipts, invoices, and other documents to ensure accurate rebate payments. It operates in a call‑center environment for a rebate project, primarily inbound with some outbound calling, requiring strong verbal and written communication, independent work, attention to detail, critical thinking, and dedication to participant satisfaction.
Key responsibilities include processing Home Energy Rebate Program applications in accordance with program rules, entering and maintaining application data in processing platforms, handling updates received by telephone, email, or other correspondence, and maintaining knowledge of eligible products and procedures. The Specialist will communicate and resolve disputed rebate claims, manage large volumes of detailed program data, provide backup support to other specialists, work with a varied client base—including special populations with communication barriers—and make decisions with financial, program‑benefit, or legal implications.
Required qualifications are a High School Diploma/GED or three years of equivalent experience, 0–2+ years in grants management, business, finance, or customer service, proficiency with Windows, Word, and Excel, and relevant customer‑service or grants‑management experience.
Preferred qualifications include bilingual Spanish ability, at least one year of experience in grants management, an energy rebate program, or a customer‑service setting, and experience with CRM systems.
