Under close supervision, the engineer will provide technical expertise and guidance in identifying, analyzing, and resolving problems; plan, organize, estimate, schedule, and monitor work activities; and produce thorough technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations, and sketches. The engineer will pursue continuous improvement of engineering knowledge, skills, and performance, maintain accurate records and files, and support the company's goals while representing the organization professionally.
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree from an EAC/ABET‑accredited engineering program (or an equivalent NCEES evaluation, or a graduate degree from an institution with accredited undergraduate programs). They must understand basic engineering theories, principles, electricity and power quality, and distribution construction standards, and be able to research design issues, evaluate alternatives, and present recommendations. Strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to work with diverse individuals are required.
The role seeks self‑motivated individuals who can work independently, are team‑ and customer‑oriented, and can manage multiple tasks while providing leadership to peers. Desired qualifications include a passing grade on the Engineering Fundamentals Exam, basic project‑management knowledge, and utility‑industry experience.
