The Senior CAD Associate develops and maintains all construction documents for new and existing products at Beazer Homes USA. The role supports Design Associates and Project Managers in preparing schematics such as floor plans, elevations, and options, and makes redline changes to existing plans. Beazer Homes emphasizes employee wellbeing, life‑work balance, development opportunities, flexible time‑off, and an industry‑leading parental leave policy.
Primary duties include drafting and producing construction documents for all Beazer divisions using both manual techniques and AutoCAD. The associate manages plan files, revises and updates drawings and schematics, and assists with regular plan production orders when required.
The role also prepares plans and specifications for lenders, creates sales and marketing handouts and brochure materials, and ensures each division receives the most current information. This includes incorporating plan revisions into new handouts and coordinating artwork preparation.
Additional tasks involve pulling blueprint orders, copying and distributing new plan sheets, supporting Project Managers and Design Associates with schematic design of floor plans and elevations, and maintaining a tracking system for future revisions. The associate also prepares forms and coordinates procedures to obtain copyright protection for floor plans.
Education requirements range from a bachelor’s degree in a design or construction‑related field with four‑plus years of direct experience, to a two‑year technical degree with six years of experience, or equivalent experience without a degree. Candidates must have demonstrable AutoCAD proficiency and a solid understanding of residential construction, building codes, and drafting standards.
Key skills include the ability to manage multiple projects daily, work beyond normal hours to meet deadlines, and accurately read, interpret, and communicate technical information. Proficiency with computers, drafting software, word processing, email, and spreadsheets is required. Employment is subject to the company’s flexible duties policy and all applicants are provided privacy notices per Beazer’s guidelines.
