The Data Center Electrical Technician is responsible for operating, inspecting, and maintaining electrical systems and equipment in critical data‑center environments. The role focuses on efficient operations, minimizing downtime, and ensuring safe, energy‑efficient conditions. Expertise in electrical systems and battery management is essential.
Daily tasks include implementing critical‑environment protocols and MOP processes, maintaining and repairing electrical services, distribution systems, and UPS equipment, and inspecting plant substations, transformers, and high‑voltage switches. The technician monitors, troubleshoots, and maintains UPS systems and battery banks, performs regular battery inspections, testing, and replacements, and utilizes EPMS for power distribution and battery performance analysis. Compliance with safety procedures, preventive maintenance of electrical and HVAC components, and updating work orders in a CMMS are also required.
Physical requirements include lifting up to 80 lbs, working at heights up to 30 feet, and performing various tasks in diverse conditions. On‑call availability may be required.
Candidates must hold the appropriate licensure and possess substantial experience in building‑engineering electrical systems, particularly with UPS and battery technologies.
Additional expertise in advanced UPS integration, predictive maintenance, high‑voltage operations, and building automation is valued.
The position is on‑site in Spartanburg, SC, offers both day and night shifts, and does not provide visa sponsorship; candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
