Grounds Person

Overview

Perform grounds maintenance tasks, including planting, mulching, equipment operation, across Defence sites.

Tasks

-Work across multiple sites as agreed with the Supervisor, based on operational needs. -Operate and maintain equipment in accordance with the Operator’s Manual and scheduled maintenance requirements. -Perform general grounds tasks including debris and rubbish removal, cleaning of outdoor features and hardstand areas, line marking, and managing injured or deceased wildlife. -Operation of mowers, tractors, small plant, machinery and both powered & non-powered hand tools. -Propagate, plant, and undertake revegetation across diverse landscapes.

What You Bring

-Experience in manual handling. -Mulching, pruning, hedging, turf care, pest control and the application of chemicals and fertilisers. -Uniform/PPE supplied -Ability to work well in a team environment. -Experience working within an Environmental Management System. -1 + years experience in a similar working environment. -Experience with operating and maintaining plant and equipment. -Certificate in Horticulture or equivalent (desirable but not essential).
