The Protection Test Engineer designs, configures, and tests protection relays and cubicles for electric utility and industrial markets within GE Vernova’s Grid Solutions business. The role demands in‑depth, hands‑on expertise in protection schemes and a solid understanding of electrical design.
The position requires strong knowledge of protection functions, electrical schematics, and cubicle design, as well as at least four years of substation experience from 11 kV to 400 kV. Candidates must be proficient with LV, MV, and HV protection relays, functional testing, GOOSE testing, IEC 61850 integration, and have the ability to travel to customer sites.
