The Director of Finance will join the senior operational leadership team for the Civil and Infrastructure business unit serving Eastern Canada. Based in Ajax, Mississauga or Montreal, the role oversees financial and accounting functions for three divisions, partnering with operations, project teams and corporate finance to manage costs, forecasts and reporting.
- Lead, coach and mentor a division‑level finance team, ensuring high performance, succession planning and professional development.
- Act as a proactive business partner to operational leadership, providing financial guidance on complex, unpredictable challenges.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver financial analysis and support during bids, planning and project execution.
- Monitor project financial performance, including revenue recognition, cost tracking, margin analysis, claims, disputes and cash flow.
- Drive the development of operational budgets, forecasts and variance analyses for projects, overhead and divisions.
- Provide concrete recommendations to improve profitability and mitigate financial risks.
- Support the mid‑term ERP conversion and process harmonisation across the division.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, internal controls and external audit requirements.
- Manage the production of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports for senior business‑unit leadership.
- Contribute to design and implementation of financial systems and processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Perform ad‑hoc financial analyses or special projects as needed.

- Hold a professional designation such as CPA, CFA or equivalent.
- Possess a university degree in finance or accounting.
- Have at least 10 years of progressive finance experience, including a minimum of 5 years in a management role, preferably in construction or infrastructure.
- Demonstrate strong understanding of project accounting and cost control; experience on large construction projects is an asset.
- Knowledge of public‑company environments and IFRS standards is a plus.
- Exhibit strategic vision and strong business acumen.
- Ability to build relationships, influence and collaborate across a nationally growing organization with multi‑regional teams.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentations at all organizational levels.
- Good knowledge of construction contracts, delivery methods (IPD, alliances) and joint‑venture experience.
- Capacity to handle high workload, meet deadlines and maintain rigor and precision.
- Strong analytical, critical‑thinking and problem‑solving abilities for complex, unpredictable situations.
