The Role

Overview

Install, fabricate, and maintain HVAC duct systems while training staff and ensuring quality.

Tasks

-Utilize the Internet based technical training offered by the company, (Dave.net). -Leads are ultimately responsible for QC install and safety on the job. -Participate in morning meeting with Supervisor to review job order, supplies and highlight QC measures/tasks and safety issues. -Converse with building and homeowners, general contractors, referring questions and / or problems to Supervisor. -Layout and install duct systems. Fabricate duct board and /or sheet metal. Learn to be able to design CFM for flex runs. -Read and interpret blueprints. -Participate in all company and installation training meetings. -Forecast material requirements. Spot potential problems to prevent premature and unexpected breakdowns or call backs. -Must always listen and take direction from Supervisor to install QC tasks with HVAC products on time and on budget. -Always use Safety First (PAUSE) approach to all work performed. -Complete all paperwork (work orders & timesheets) timely, accurately, and legible (attention to detail). -Leading and training of Apprentices to understand Quality Control tasks. -Responsible in maintaining a clean and properly stocked truck always (Review job packet for materials with Supervisor prior to leaving office each morning). -Develop QC diagnostic skills as well as apply QC techniques through various tasks assignments. -Always use the proper safety clothing, tools and precautions before beginning any work assignments. -Arrive on time and ready to begin work every day. Always maintain professional appearance and attitude.

What You Bring

-Have a “can do” attitude to learn and properly follow Quality Control (QC) installation processes, procedures and anticipate the needs of your supervisor. -Must be willing to train new duct mechanics in technical skills and company procedures. -Ability to complete red line drawings upon completion of job. -Ability to install exhaust fans, blowers, louvers, & air handlers. -Understand HVAC duct system design operation. -Own or work towards owning the necessary hand tools required for Duct Mechanic Technician. -Continue to work towards completing CAC university -Ability to independently run multiple jobs or a large-scale project.
