Key duties include picking, sorting, and staging pipe, fittings, and hardware; cleaning and preparing sprinkler pipe; loading and unloading trucks; measuring, cutting, grooving, and drilling pipe to specifications; and inspecting tools and equipment as directed. Apprentices also assist with inventory, maintain a clean work area, read blueprints, drive company pickups, climb ladders, and ensure compliance with general contractor requirements while meeting apprenticeship program benchmarks.
Apprentices work at various job sites, developing the skills needed to install, test, repair, and maintain fire sprinkler systems under supervision. They use a variety of hand and power tools and become familiar with trade‑specific materials related to each project.
Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and a flexible schedule. A team‑oriented focus and adherence to the company’s Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, and Safety Policy are essential.
The role requires the ability to lift at least 50 lb, work at heights, walk and maneuver around construction sites, and perform frequent bending, squatting, and reaching above shoulder level. Candidates must also tolerate various weather conditions and wear personal protective equipment such as steel‑toe shoes, ear plugs, safety glasses, harnesses, and hard hats.
