  • Improving the Efficiency and Utilization of the Production Department
  • Ensure daily shop clean-up actions are performed effectively, and required daily machine preventive maintenance actions are carried out as required
  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Make sound and timely decisions
  • Solve practical problems and difficult situations
  • Bring multiple product lines together to meet the manufacturing plan for the week.
  • Identifying problem root cause and implementing corrective and preventive measures to ensure no repetition
  • Motivating department members through involvement, communication, and positive reinforcement
  • Monitor attendance and take disciplinary steps as required, up to and including termination
  • Develop, maintain, and motivate a strong team
  • Provide employees with feedback through formal and informal Performance Evaluations
  • Manpower planning and effective staffing, which includes operators and lead-hands.
  • Ensuring effective training and cross-training
  • Identify and resolve Safety concerns
  • Driving continuous improvement within departments to achieve better quality, efficient productivity, and delivery performance
  • Ensuring work instructions, procedures and policies are being followed
  • Dealing with grievance and conflict in a calm, controlled, and professional manner
  • Create accountability and lead by example
  • Mentoring and developing lead-hands so they can manage the hour-by-hour manufacturing operations
  • Utilize functional support departments to resolve quality issues

  • College Degree or High School with 5+ years of experience
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a strong plus, but not required
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing
  • Quality of the products built and effective resolution of quality issues
  • Work effectively in a multitasking environment and work constructively under pressure
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • 3+ years of supervision role with a proven track record in a high-volume, multi-product environment, preferably in sheet metal and HVAC
  • Driving force behind 5S
  • Comfortable in a team-oriented environment
  • Use Lean Manufacturing and other techniques
  • Exceptional leadership skills with a sense of urgency and strong aptitude
  • Must be organized and detail-oriented
  • Ability to pass a drug screen and background check
