The Mechatronics & Robotics Technician role supports the Operations Maintenance team by repairing and maintaining material‑handling equipment and pneumatic systems throughout the building, including installation, upkeep and repair of automated packaging and distribution equipment, and mentorship of junior technicians.
Daily duties involve following safety procedures, completing preventive‑maintenance routines with documentation, troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues on belts, motors, sensors and relays, managing inventory, and maintaining positive relationships across the facility. The position may require up to 12‑hour shifts, occasional travel up to 20 % and handling loads of up to 49 lb.
Required qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, flexible availability for weekends, nights or holidays, and at least two years of experience repairing material‑handling equipment and performing predictive/preventive maintenance. Preferred credentials are an associate or higher degree in mechanical/electrical fields, experience with automated conveyor systems, blueprint reading, CMMS, and robotic/electromechanical maintenance.
The role entails repetitive bending, lifting, standing on concrete for long periods and working in confined, dusty or noisy environments, with exposure to hot/cold temperatures and heights. Compensation is estimated at CAD 58,240‑58,760 annually, based on location, qualifications and market conditions, and the position is located on‑site in Langley, BC.
