Assist wider finance community as required
Responsible for the timely and accurate reporting of monthly management and legal results in line with Group reporting deadlines
Provide support for intercompany reporting and reconciliation as required
Management of the month end close timetable, working with operations and wider finance teams on the key deliverables to achieve Group reporting deadlines
Responsible for the integrity of the general ledger, ensuring all Projects and Subledger modules reconcile monthly
Escalating issues to the Finance Manager when required and keeping them briefed on the team’s activities
Mentoring and development of junior members of staff
Reviewing and approving all necessary journals to correctly categorise results and amend any reconciliation issues
Responsible for integrity of Half Year and Full Year Reporting requirements under IFRS Accounting Regulations
Maximise efficiency in the reporting process, identifying areas causing issues, determining root cause and working with the necessary teams to resolve
Focal point for external audit, managing the half year, year end and statutory audits for the Africa entities
Focal point for internal audit for the Africa entities, ensuring processes are aligned to Petrofac accounting policies, and where required update the processes to align with changes to these policies
Identifying and implementing system improvements to increase the efficiency of reporting process
Work closely with in country Finance teams, local and Group Tax to ensure compliance with local tax laws
Support business improvement initiatives across the finance function and wider business
Completion and review of balance sheet reconciliations as assigned, working to resolve any issues identified ahead of the next reporting period

Must be able to work to tight deadlines with high levels of accuracy
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations
CA/ACCA/CPA/CIMMA/CMA Part or recently qualified is preferable, or
Advanced excel skills are required due to interpretation of large levels of data (pivot tables, VLOOKUP’s)
Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or other relevant discipline
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate problems from differing viewpoints and recognise potential root cause of problems to suggest possible solutions
Full understanding of complex group structure to reconcile legal entity versus regional management reporting.
Proficiency in Oracle accounting system is preferred
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Experience in an international group of companies is preferred
Good technical accounting knowledge and analytical skills
Strong communication skills must be comfortable and professional dealing with Senior Management level.
