This fully remote position, open to candidates located in the contiguous United States, is for a Project Manager who will oversee NuScale’s demonstration reactor and product development projects. The role reports to the Manager of Product Development and ultimately to the CTO, and involves leading a multidisciplinary team to advance the microreactor design, fabrication, and deployment.
- Manage overall planning and execution of project activities for assigned projects.
- Identify and resolve project problems and challenges, escalating issues within NuScale when necessary.
- Develop and maintain preliminary project cost and schedule for near‑term reactor demonstration (Phase 1 proof of concept).
- Document and maintain the approved baseline, earned‑value plan, and project execution strategy in a Project Management Plan (post‑Phase 1).
- Provide weekly and monthly status reports on performance, earned‑value metrics, variance analysis, schedule and cost risk mitigation, and issue resolution to stakeholders (post‑Phase 1).
- Coordinate with organization management to assign work‑package managers and qualified resources.
- Develop, maintain, and control project‑specific plans and procedures for efficient execution.
- Evaluate, select, and oversee subcontracted service providers supporting project objectives.
- Maintain high‑quality, timely completion of tasks for the group.

Success in this role requires strong problem‑solving ability, clear oral and written communication, and effective planning and organization to manage timelines and resources. The candidate must be adaptable to changing conditions, dependable, and capable of building trust‑based relationships while upholding NuScale’s safety culture and adhering to quality‑assurance standards such as 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR 21, and NQA‑1.
The position involves typical office activities such as sitting, standing, walking, and operating computer equipment, with occasional local and national travel. Employees must be able to comprehend new concepts quickly and communicate clearly via phone, in‑person, and electronic means.
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or related field (advanced degree preferred).
- Minimum 5 years full‑time project management or related experience; microreactor experience preferred.
- Demonstrated application of PMI PMBOK principles and processes.
- Demonstrated use of integrated cost and schedule control or ANSI EIA‑748‑C Earned Value Management practices.
- PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.
- Eligibility to work under DOE 10 CFR Part 810.
Benefits
- Target annual salary $99,175–$119,694 (full range $88,915–$139,073) with compensation based on skills, experience, education, and equity.
