  • Mentor and develop apprentices and tradespeople, fostering a strong safety and teamwork culture.
  • Lead and coordinate day-to-day workshop operations to ensure timely turnaround of fleet repairs, overhauls, and asset preparation for hire.
  • Plan, schedule, and oversee field service technicians for site-based works including breakdown response, commissioning, and routine servicing.
  • Coordinate job allocation, workflow management, and prioritisation of workshop and field tasks.
  • Maintain accurate job records, service reports, and parts usage within internal systems (Dashpivot / Syrinx).
  • Lead a capable team across workshop and field service disciplines.
  • Collaborate with operations and project managers to align workshop and field resources with project and customer requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to workshop and field service teams.
  • Drive continual improvement in workshop efficiency, housekeeping, and fleet presentation.
  • Conduct hands-on mechanical fitting, troubleshooting, and testing on diesel and electric pumping equipment where required.
  • Take ownership of a key operational function within a growing national business.
  • Ensure all work is completed to a high standard of quality, safety, and compliance with company procedures and Australian Standards.

  • Strong ability to plan, coordinate, and support both workshop and field-based teams.
  • Proficient in fault finding and repair of centrifugal, submersible, and high-head pump sets.
  • Current driver’s licence (HR licence desirable).
  • Sound understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical systems.
  • Proven commitment to safety, teamwork, and high-quality workmanship.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in pump maintenance, rebuilds, or dewatering hire environments.
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience (workshop or field) highly regarded.
  • Trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting or a related discipline (e.g. Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade).
