As a Senior Fire Risk Assessor within Bureau Veritas’ International Risk & Safety Team, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality fire risk assessments and consultancy services across a diverse portfolio of clients and premises, including complex and sleeping risk environments. You will be a trusted advisor, supporting both clients and colleagues with your technical expertise and collaborative approach.
- Support junior consultants through mentoring and technical guidance.
- Interpret and apply relevant legislation and guidance, including:
- Undertake compartmentation and fire door surveys, providing clear, actionable reports.
- Manage multiple projects, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality outcomes.
- Conduct Fire Risk Assessments (FRAs) in a variety of premises, including high-risk and sleeping accommodation.
- Provide expert advice to clients and internal teams on fire safety strategies and compliance.

Location: Flexible (Regular travel throughout the UK Required)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Travel regionally and nationally as required.
- Demonstratable experience in fire risk assessments, including complex and sleeping risk premises.
- Membership with IOSH or IIRSM.
- Networking mindset – Engage actively with stakeholders and the wider BV network.
- Approved Document B
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Experience with compartmentation and fire door inspections.
- Strong understanding of UK fire safety legislation and standards.
- Analytical thinker – Strong data analysis and report writing capabilities.
- BS 9999 and BS 9991
- Level 3 Diploma in Fire Safety (or equivalent).
- Candid communicator – Comfortable with honest, constructive dialogue.
- Accreditation with at least one of the following: IFE, IFSM, FRACS, IFPO.
- Empathetic mindset – Understand and respond to client and team needs.
- Resilience – Adapt and bounce back when challenges arise.
