Sr Plant Engineering Lead

Description

The Sr. Process Engineer works as an individual contributor, collaborating with plant process leaders, regional controls and automation engineers, and teams focused on sustainability and circular economy. Responsibilities include safety stewardship, early involvement in product and process trials, productivity initiatives, knowledge retention, training, and serving as an escalation point for technical troubleshooting across multiple plants.

• Ensure a safe and environmentally compliant workplace in line with Owens Corning Safety Stand.
• Participate early in product development and process trials, including HAZOP analysis and conversion rollout support.
• Lead productivity initiatives such as new product qualification, network optimization, raw material substitution, and cost optimization.
• Conduct CPV and CPO audits, develop training programs, and mentor new engineers to accelerate learning.
• Advance digital manufacturing through remote monitoring, upset prediction, process modeling, and automation project implementation.
• Act as escalation point for technical and process troubleshooting, identifying solutions and replicating them across plants.
• Utilize data systems, TPM, and Six Sigma methods to eliminate manufacturing waste and losses.

Requirements

• Hold a Bachelor of Science in Chemical, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Possess Six Sigma Green Belt and/or Lean Manufacturing experience.
• Bring at least 3 years of technical manufacturing or process engineering experience with proven improvement results.
• Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication, business acumen, and effective planning and delegation skills.
• Exhibit inspirational leadership, safety focus, and the ability to achieve rapid results individually and through teams.
