Civil / Geotechnical Co-op

Description

• Work on diverse local and international projects such as site characterization, geohazard risk assessment, terrain analysis, tailings dam engineering, numerical modeling, foundation design, mine and tailings planning, mine pit slope design, embankment dams, and earthworks design.
• Participate in site investigation and drilling programs, including core logging, lab testing, instrumentation installation, monitoring, and data review and analysis.
• Build and develop strong relationships with multidisciplinary project teams, subcontractors, clients, and other stakeholders.
• Apply problem‑solving skills to devise innovative solutions to technical challenges.
• Travel to project sites across Western Canada (Alberta, Saskatchewan, British Columbia) and potentially internationally.

Requirements

The position provides practical experience on engineering projects, mentorship from senior staff, and the possibility of travel to various project sites across Western Canada and occasionally internationally.

Applicants must meet the program’s eligibility criteria and be prepared for travel as part of the role.

• Currently enrolled in the third or fourth year of a recognized engineering program.
• Hold a valid driver’s license.
• Willingness to travel.
• Eagerness to learn good engineering practice.
