The Technology Consultant develops the design and leads the consulting efforts for technology systems on assigned projects. These technology systems include structured cabling, access control, video surveillance, nurse call, audiovisual, and other low voltage communications systems. This position is responsible for managing assigned projects through scoping, pricing, staffing, and ensuring that projects are produced on time, within budget, and of the highest technical quality.
- Reviews shop drawings, records changes, and provides feedback to designers based on project specifications
- Performs project management duties for the team on assigned projects through the establishment and management of the project plan, which is made up of team man-hour budgets, the project schedule, and QA/QC
- Acts and performs activities inside and outside the office consistent with ethical engineering standards
- Assists in the communication with the owner, architect, and contractors as needed
- Develops design approaches and concepts on assigned projects and seeks assistance from senior technical staff as needed
- Conducts site visits during construction to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design specifications, owner expectations, and building codes
- Prepares and maintains project budgets
- Conducts planning and vision casting meetings to determine the scope of the project, current and future needs, process and work flow, and client expectations
- Assists Technology Associates in understanding company technical policies and procedures during the execution of a project
- Actively participates in professional organizations and/or client groups where the technical reputation
- Maintains a focus on keeping up with industry trends and changes with continued self-education and training

- Healthcare construction experience is recommended
- Must have security clearance
- Knowledge and understanding of NEC, NESC, NFPA, FGI, BiCSi TDMM and other industry related codes
- and image of the firm may be enhanced
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or relevant degree AND five years of applicable experience OR eight years of direct experience in the design, application, and/or administration of low voltage system
- Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- Experience working with architects and a thorough knowledge of the architectural design phases
- Knowledge and understanding of low voltage systems such as nurse call, audio visual, public address, security, phone systems etc.
