The role involves conducting nondestructive examinations to assess critical industrial components, setting up and calibrating equipment, following procedures, interpreting and documenting results, and providing on‑the‑job training for Level I personnel while supervising them. Examiners must be familiar with applicable codes, standards, and NDT methods used.
The company is seeking NDE Level II and/or Level III Examiners with industry experience and current certification in at least one surface method (VT, MT, PT) and one volumetric method (UT, ET, RT). Additional training and certification opportunities are available to expand skill sets and support SIA’s core competencies.
Candidates should demonstrate business understanding, participation in business development, and entrepreneurial coaching, as well as strong mechanical intuition, mastery of basic NDE principles, and competence in advanced technologies. They must exhibit ethical behavior, teamwork, independent troubleshooting, and willingness to work in extreme or hazardous environments with extensive travel and flexible scheduling.
Required qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent with secondary education toward an AS/BS in science, materials, or engineering, plus 2+ years as a Level II NDE examiner or equivalent degree experience. Candidates must hold Level II certification in at least two surface methods and one volumetric method within six months, with preference for MT/PT and UT‑PA or UT‑TOFD endorsements.
The work environment may involve dirty, radiological, heat, cold, heights, scaffolds, noisy locations, and proximity to welding or other hazardous activities; experience in power plant settings is preferred. Safety consciousness and adherence to written procedures and quality practices are essential.
SIA offers competitive salary, performance‑based bonuses, retirement plans (Traditional and Roth 401k with employer match), paid time off, and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D, disability, HSAs, FSAs, ID theft protection, and credit monitoring. The company is an equal‑opportunity employer and does not work with third‑party recruiters.
