Lead, provide direction, coach, and develop inspection technicians while managing daily work assignments, priorities, and coverage, including scheduling technicians to match production schedules. Conduct performance reviews, skills assessments, and targeted cross‑training to build a flexible team. Enforce safety, quality, and 5S standards and model disciplined problem‑solving and data‑driven decisions. Create, review, and train personnel on applicable Quality Alerts.
Plan and execute final inspection against drawings, inspection recipes, BOMs, routings, control plans, and customer specifications, verifying conformance of mechanical and electrical build. Initiate and track corrective/preventive actions (CAPA), verify effectiveness and timely closure, using structured problem‑solving methods such as 8D, Fishbone, and 5‑Why to prevent recurrence. Analyze inspection data to identify trends and drive improvements in first‑pass yield, defect rates, and cycle time, while partnering with Manufacturing and Engineering to optimize control plans, checklists, gauge R&R, and error‑proofing. Support lean initiatives including visual management, standard work, and layered audits; maintain accurate inspection records in the QMS and prepare for internal/external audits. Act as a working supervisor of inspection technicians and collaborate with cross‑functional value‑stream teams to continuously improve quality processes and resolve quality issues.
An Associate’s Degree from an accredited institution and a minimum of three years’ experience in quality, manufacturing, or engineering within a manufacturing environment are required. A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field, along with at least five years of relevant experience, is preferred. Candidates must possess knowledge of Quality Management Systems such as ISO 9001 or TS16949, and be able to identify, evaluate, and implement cost‑effective solutions to complex quality issues. Strong computer skills in MS Office and databases, as well as leadership, influencing, interpersonal, and communication abilities, are essential. No relocation benefit is offered; active‑duty military candidates are exempt from the geographic limitation.
