As the General Manager – Governance (City) at Livspace, you will serve as the control anchor for all governance-related practices in your city. You’ll ensure that processes, policies, and compliance mechanisms are implemented and followed across functions like design, project execution, customer experience, and especially partner/vendor management. This is a strategic and hands-on role that ensures operational discipline at the city level. You will closely work with internal teams and external partners to identify gaps, mitigate risks, and uphold Livspace’s governance and compliance standards.

  • Conduct routine governance checks to ensure adherence to process frameworks.
  • Prepare city-level compliance reports and governance scorecards for business reviews.
  • Lead monthly/quarterly internal audits across verticals and ensure timely closure of findings.
  • Drive compliance with Livspace’s SOPs across on-ground teams – including design, execution, vendor, and experience functions.
  • Conduct workshops and refreshers to educate stakeholders on new or revised SOPs.
  • Track and update governance metrics through structured dashboards and trackers.
  • Tracking and training: Training and actively coaching the team on the job. Track strong and weak performance and course correct. Reward appropriately.
  • Work directly with partners (design, execution, vendors) to ensure clarity on compliance expectations and accountability.
  • Escalate recurring non-compliances or systemic partner issues to the regional governance lead.
  • Maintain all project, partner, and compliance documentation in audit-ready format.
  • Present RCA (Root Cause Analysis) and recommend preventive measures.
  • Monitor and resolve governance risks including financial, operational, or service quality issues.
  • Flag repeated incidents and drive systemic corrective actions and policy reinforcement
  • Identify and close operational control gaps impacting service quality, timelines, or cost.
  • Liaise with city ops, design teams, and PMs to reinforce a governance-first mindset.
  • Strong leadership: Hire, retain, motivate, and look after a diverse team of BMs, TAMs, IDs, LPs etc.

City Governance & SOP Adherence

B.Arch or equivalent degree Or comparable degree in Arch/Design. MBA would be an added advantage.

  • Strong attention to detail and excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to convey business requirements and needs in a clear, concise, and effective manner.
  • Deep understanding of interior fit-out industry, processes, market trends etc.
  • Structured thought process and strong analytical ability, determined to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills (direct team reporting in past roles a must)
  • Customer empathy: appreciate the nature of the customer problem and be a trustworthy, knowledgeable partner.
  • Possesses significant personal and professional drive to continuously improve the standing of Design and Design experience.
  • Typically spent at least 6 to 7 years in an interior fit-out business, operating role managing a revenue generating team(s) or selling design products/services through a bunch of designers.
