This position is a full‑time traveling assignment supporting an Advanced Technology project across data center, pharmaceutical, industrial/manufacturing, and EV/battery/renewables market segments. It is located in Minneapolis, MN, with 100% travel, salaried exempt, under the Critical Facilities – Data Centers division of Turner Construction.
The role manages, evaluates, and assesses mechanical and electrical system information to ensure project construction is on time, safe, within budget, and meets contract quality. The incumbent leads the project team, subcontractors, and consultants to align and install systems efficiently, prepares contract item lists, participates in schedule updates, and oversees RFI processing.
Budget responsibilities include reviewing, evaluating, and negotiating change orders while understanding subcontractor financial status. The engineer supervises and mentors assistant MEP engineers, co‑leads MEP coordination with the VDC engineer, and prepares scope of work documents and temporary operation plans.
Collaboration with the MEP Superintendent resolves mechanical/electrical conflicts, drives turnover processes (startup, testing, commissioning, closeout), conducts walkthroughs, identifies challenging installations, secures municipal documentation, and implements quality control plans.
Required qualifications are a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or equivalent) with at least four years of relevant experience, strong technical expertise in mechanical and electrical systems, business acumen, excellent communication, organizational, and computer skills, and demonstrated leadership.
Physical demands include occasional climbing stairs, ladders, and hoists, lifting up to 50 lb, and using vision and hand functions; work environments are construction sites with noise, moving parts, weather exposure, and electrical hazards.
