The Construction Estimator is responsible for analyzing project plans, specifications, and requirements to prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates. This role includes performing quantity takeoffs, obtaining subcontractor and vendor pricing, evaluating project risks, and supporting the development of complete bid proposals. The estimator works closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure scope clarity and cost accuracy.

Use digital takeoff software (On-Screen Takeoff, PlanSwift, Bluebeam, STACK, etc.).
Develop cost breakdowns for materials, labor, equipment, subcontractors, and overhead.
Identify scope, materials, labor requirements, and potential risks.
Create detailed and accurate quantity summaries.
Measure and calculate quantities for materials, labor, and equipment.
Apply productivity rates, labor burden, and cost escalation.
Compare drawings for revisions or changes (takeoff adjustments).
Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and addenda.
