As a Designer in our corporate office, you will work one‑on‑one with home buyers to select the finishes for their new homes. In this role you guide customers through the design‑center appointment, inform them about material options, and help bring their vision to life. The position emphasizes exceptional customer service and a direct impact on the homeowner’s experience.
Key responsibilities include reviewing customer agreements for buildability, creating precise selection sheets that capture client preferences, and following up with sales counselors and divisions to ensure selections are completed on schedule. You will also collaborate with division and sales managers to design speculative inventory homes based on market research, and keep the design‑center showroom tidy and welcoming.
Success in this role comes from an outgoing, upbeat personality and a flexible, customer‑centered approach. You must enjoy meeting new people, stay patient, and adapt to each client’s needs while maintaining focus on timeliness and accuracy.
The preferred qualification is an associate’s degree in design or a related field. Physical demands involve using verbal communication, repetitive fine‑motor tasks such as typing, lifting 20‑25 lb unassisted, and prolonged seated work with occasional reaching and standing.
Employees enjoy professional development programs, tuition reimbursement, competitive compensation, 401(k) matching with profit‑sharing, life insurance, personal time off, and inclusive leave, reflecting Fischer Homes’ commitment to fair and supportive workplace practices.
