

Designs multimodal transportation systems that make walking, biking and transit safe, convenient, and enjoyable.
Interns are fully embedded in project teams for 8–12 weeks, contributing from day one. Responsibilities may include data analysis, safety education projects, corridor condition evaluation, public‑meeting material preparation, research, and graphic development. Interns also receive company‑wide trainings, career mentorship, and the chance to attend meetings and site visits.
The position pays $19–$22.50 per hour, with a 40‑hour week, four office days and optional remote Fridays. All Toole Design offices are bikeable, walkable, and transit‑friendly, reflecting the infrastructure we design.
We are an ENR Top 500 design firm with low turnover, and we invite candidates to apply by 1/31/26. The Chris Kelleher Memorial Fund may provide housing assistance to hired interns based on need and fund availability.
