The Painter will be responsible coating/painting the appropriate surface of structural steel pieces in accordance with SSPC specifications.
Loads finished pieces on trailers for shipping.
Responsible for adhering to all company safety and OSHA regulations.
Gathers needed materials and specifications according to the applicable department prints.
Receives finished material from shop, prepares surface for coating and sets up paint equipment in order to paint a maximum amount of pieces in the most efficient manner.

Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
Minimum 2 years’ commercial painting experience with basic knowledge of Structural Steel Fabrication operations preferred.
Must be able to read a tape measure and work in fractions.
The ability to work overtime and regular, punctual attendance is required.

Must be able to tolerate loud noises.
Job requires excessive amounts of climbing, bending, pushing, pulling, crawling and stooping, etc.
Must have airless experience.
Experience using zinc and epoxy is required.
Must be familiar with paint equipment and different coatings.
Must be able to understand paint code systems.
Should have some knowledge of how to operate a forklift and overhead crane.
