Geospatial Solutions Supervisor

Description

• Maintain a base-level understanding of field operations, equipment, and safety
• Assist the Superintendent of Field Services with strategic planning related to
• Develop training materials and conduct sessions to upskill team members on
• Promote a culture of continuous learning and innovation within the geospatial
• Work closely with the Field Operations Supervisor to ensure that field
• Serve as a technical point of escalation for complex data or workflow issues.
• Participate in client review meetings to address technical questions and gather
• Support user training and troubleshooting for internal staff working within
• Establish and enforce quality control standards and checklists to ensure data
• Lead or actively contribute to research and development initiatives for new
• Contribute to budget planning and tracking for software licenses, cloud
• Manage GIS datasets, including schema design, attribution standards, and
• Implement and manage API-based integrations and data exchanges between
• Support proposal writing and scope development by defining geospatial
• Design and implement custom tools, scripts, and processes (e.g., automation,
• Support documentation efforts, including SOPs, best practices, and technical
• Develop and maintain documented workflows for data processing, asset
• Provide guidance to field teams on data capture standards, naming conventions,
• Provide technical leadership to Field Survey Data Processing Analysts and other
• Share insights from geospatial analysis that can improve field planning, safety,
• Oversee the ingestion, organization, and processing of LiDAR, GPR, thermal
• Work with internal IT, software vendors, and cloud providers to optimize system
• Stay current with emerging geospatial, UAS, and data analytics technologies, and
• Coordinate with field teams to resolve data quality issues, identify root causes,
• Ensure data security, integrity, and appropriate backup/archiving practices for all
• Identify opportunities to improve survey data processing pipelines, geospatial
• Collaborate with project managers and business development to understand
• Configure and manage geospatial platforms and tools (e.g., LiDAR processing

Requirements

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in Geomatics, Surveying, Geography, GIS, Remote
• Proficiency in GIS applications (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) and integration between
• Extensive expertise in LiDAR data processing, including understanding of LAS file
• Pilot new technologies and platforms such as AI-assisted classification, advanced
• Highly organized, analytical, and detail-oriented, with a strong focus on quality
• Strong foundational knowledge in geospatial technology and principles.
• Experience with scripting/automation tools (e.g., Python, batch processing, or
• Ability to work collaboratively with both office-based and field-based staff, and
• Ability to document technical work clearly and produce concise technical
• FAA Part 107 Certification and/or knowledge of UAS operations preferred.
• Experience managing geospatial data pipelines, project queues, and deadlines
• Present and explain technical approaches, data products, and innovation
• Demonstrated ability to train and mentor others in complex technical topics.
• Skill in simplifying and effectively communicating complex geospatial concepts to
• Superior interpersonal and communication skills, with experience in client-facing
• Experience with data integration tools, cloud-hosted platforms, and
• Curiosity and willingness to explore new tools and methods to keep the
• Strong knowledge of T&D infrastructure, including power lines, poles, and
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under
• Familiarity with AI/ML-assisted classification, point cloud analytics, or similar
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Pro, and geospatial
