Computer Aided Design Designer

Description

• Interpret engineering design intent, functional requirements, and manufacturing/inspection needs
• Track progress, meet drawing release schedules, and escalate design or manufacturability concerns when needed
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to resolve design questions and implement ECOs/ECNs
• Apply ASME drawing standards, including ASME Y14.100, Y14.5, and Y14.41
• Manage drawing and model revisions, releases, and configuration control using a PLM system (Teamcenter)
• Model mechanical parts and assemblies in PTC Creo and generate customer-ready drawing packages
• Support change control activities by updating drawings and CAD models as required
• Prepare supplier-ready documentation for manufacturing and inspection
• Create, update, and maintain 2D and 3D drawings using AutoCAD and PTC Creo
• Perform self-checks and peer reviews to ensure drawing accuracy, completeness, and standards compliance

Requirements

BEPC is seeking an experienced CAD Designer to support an engineering team in the creation, revision, and release of detailed 2D and 3D CAD models and engineering drawings. This role is ideal for a hands-on CAD professional with strong mechanical design experience, a solid understanding of manufacturing practices, and proficiency in AutoCAD and PTC Creo.

• Hands-on experience with PLM/EDM systems for drawing and model revision control and release workflows
• Background in sheet metal, composites, machined parts, or high-tolerance components
• Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, tolerancing, and assembly considerations
• Proficiency with Visio Pro, Adobe Acrobat, and Microsoft Office
• Experience with complex or large CAD assemblies
• Familiarity with additional CAD or PLM tools such as CATIA, NX, SolidWorks, or Windchill
• Experience reviewing mechanical and assembly drawings for quality and accuracy
• Aerospace industry experience (OEM or Tier 1 supplier)
• Experience with MBD, DFM, DFA, DFMEA, and PFMEA
• Strong attention to detail, organization skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities
• 4+ years of CAD design/drafting experience in a mechanical, manufacturing, or aerospace environment (5–7 years preferred)
• Strong working knowledge of ASME drawing standards and GD&T
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and PTC Creo for parts and assemblies
• Clear communication skills and ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams
