Senior Engineer – Transportation Design(Roads & Highways)

Description

The role involves working independently or as part of a team of Engineers, Designers, and CAD Operators. The Senior Engineer must ensure that all designs comply with client requirements, local authority regulations, engineering standards, and codes of practice. Additionally, the role includes supporting material selection, specification reviews, and verifying the accuracy of BOQs.

• Prepare scope of work documents and design criteria for transportation projects.
• Prepare pavement designs and detailed pavement design reports.
• Generate earthwork quantities using Civil 3D.
• Ensure compliance with QA/QC procedures as per company standards for coordinated and high-quality designs across all disciplines.
• Develop site grading plans and produce accurate road cross-sections.
• Prepare PowerPoint presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
• Prepare and update project progress reports.
• Develop concept and detailed designs for interchanges.
• Carry out the design of junctions, including roundabouts, priority junctions, and signalized intersections (horizontal & vertical design).
• Produce clear, concise, and well-structured technical reports.
• Develop schematic and detailed designs based on concept inputs.

Requirements

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Engineer to join our Transportation Design Section. The Senior Engineer is responsible for preparing schematic and detailed designs for a wide range of transportation projects, based on concept designs developed by the Section Manager and Senior Project Engineer.

• Minimum 8+ years of experience in transportation or roadway design.
• Strong proficiency in Civil 3D and AutoCAD (latest versions).
• Strong understanding of engineering standards, codes of practice, and local authority guidelines.
• Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Demonstrate full proficiency in the design of roads (plans and profiles).
• Coordinate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders using strong communication skills.
• Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline (mandatory).
