Manufacturer of innovative construction chemicals and flooring systems for tile, stone, and concrete.
The role applies engineering and chemistry techniques to enhance quality, manufacturing processes, and product performance while transitioning new products from R&D to production. Responsibilities include designing efficient, cost‑effective equipment, assessing current methods, troubleshooting and repairing equipment, and documenting results in reports. Minimal supervision is expected, with occasional training of personnel on equipment and methods.
Approximately half of the time is spent supporting the Process Lab and New Product Development, assisting NPD projects, developing and executing Design of Experiments for pilot‑plant and production scale‑up, and analyzing experiment data to identify improvements.
Another 20 % focuses on data analysis and technical management, where the employee evaluates product and process data to find cost‑reduction opportunities, ensures compliance with ISO/QMS standards, and creates work instructions and training for new or improved equipment.
Plant support responsibilities include identifying and implementing process‑improvement initiatives that reduce waste, improving Overall Equipment Effectiveness, supporting production or quality issues, evaluating equipment capabilities, and leading the installation and start‑up of new processes and machinery while collaborating with plant leadership, QA, and R&D teams.
The remaining 10 % involves pilot‑plant support: operating and preparing pilot‑plant machines, performing regular technical testing for safety and efficiency, and conducting required laboratory testing for completed experiments.
The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering and 3–6 years of experience in a process‑manufacturing environment. Candidates must be self‑starting, analytical, and capable of handling low to intermediate complexity issues, with strong oral and written communication, organization, teamwork, and leadership skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Mini‑Tab (or similar), and the ability to travel up to 50 % internationally are also required.
