The role involves reactive and planned maintenance, installation and commissioning of highway control technology such as CCTV, traffic monitoring units, variable message signs, emergency telephones and other electronic and communications equipment, primarily on motorways.
The Field Engineer will join a multi‑disciplinary frontline team responsible for the availability and safety of Transport Scotland roadside technology assets on Scottish motorways and trunk roads, and a valid driving licence is required.
Ideal candidates hold a national certificate in an electronic or electrical discipline and vocational qualifications in electrotechnical or telecommunications; field installation experience is desirable but not essential as training will be provided.
