The Roof Lead is responsible for assembling, installing, and maintaining photovoltaic (PV) systems on rooftops, ground mounts, and other structures, performing tasks such as measuring, cutting, drilling, minor electrical work, and structural upgrades while adhering to safety standards.
Key duties include driving and loading company vehicles, unloading materials on‑site, assembling roof components efficiently, completing PV electrical wiring, assigning tasks to the crew, maintaining communication with the onsite crew lead, and ensuring compliance with Freedom Forever policies and applicable codes.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, at least one year of PV installation experience with six months of crew‑lead experience, strong knowledge of PV systems and safety practices, and the ability to motivate and coordinate a team. Physical abilities include working at heights, lifting 50+ lb, and using hand and power tools, along with excellent communication and customer service skills.
The position requires the ability to stand, climb ladders, bend, and perform repetitive motions for extended periods, plus occasional domestic travel. A valid state driver’s license with a clean record is mandatory.
