Rolling Stock Technician

Perform maintenance, fault diagnosis, repair, and servicing of rail vehicles as a Rail Engineering Technician.
Comply with all safe working practices, depot protection measures, and company health & safety requirements.
Maintain high standards of depot housekeeping and contribute to a positive safety culture.
Follow Fleet Standards documentation, including Depot Maintenance Schedules, Technical Instructions, Job Cards, and other issued materials.
Work in accordance with technical, operational, and environmental procedures, ensuring compliance with all relevant policies and maintenance schedules.
Adhere to instructions and guidance from supervisors and managers.
Follow industry rules and regulations, including Network Rail standards where applicable.
Support productivity and efficiency initiatives within the maintenance team as directed by the Duty Fleet Manager or their delegate.
Perform maintenance, fault diagnosis, repair, and servicing of rolling stock to a high standard and in line with engineering best practices.
Undertake diagnostic reviews and update electronic documentation as required.

Candidates with backgrounds in Automotive, Aerospace, HGV, PSV, or Armed Forces are encouraged to apply. Relevant transferable skills will be considered
ONC (or higher) qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronic Engineering.
Strong understanding of health and safety procedures.
Familiarity with T&RS fleet maintenance operations.
Skilled in systematic fault finding and problem-solving.
Experience with Diesel Multiple Units (DMUs).
Able to reliably travel to and from work outside of standard public transport hours.
Willing and able to work a rotating shift pattern (early, late, nights, weekends).
Experience working in a Traction & Rolling Stock (T&RS) depot environment.
Capable of working independently or as part of a team.
Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Demonstrated experience in mechanical and/or electrical engineering.
Flexible and adaptable to a changing work environment.
Ability to read and interpret schematic diagrams and technical layouts.
