Based in Plymouth or Exeter, this role supports long‑term projects in Devon and Cornwall, primarily within the defence sector. It involves leading large building projects, administering NEC‑style contracts, managing multidisciplinary teams, programmes, risks and quality processes.
Key duties include forming and managing stakeholder relationships, identifying and monitoring project risks and opportunities, contributing to governance reviews, handling commercial and procurement functions, and ensuring health‑ and safety compliance on site.

- Maintain risk registers and conduct regular risk reviews
- Assess impact of change and ensure quality management processes

The ideal candidate has proven experience delivering large infrastructure or construction projects, hands‑on knowledge of NEC contracts, strong commercial acumen, excellent written and verbal communication, and the flexibility to work 1‑2 days per week on a live construction site in west Cornwall with accommodation provided.
Desirable qualifications include defence‑sector project experience, NEC ECC Project Manager accreditation (NEC 3 or 4), APM PMQ or MAPM membership, expertise in managing multidisciplinary teams and earned‑value analysis, and advanced IT skills in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Proven experience leading delivery of large infrastructure or construction projects
- Demonstrable experience with NEC contracts (or similar)
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, contractors, stakeholders and supply chain
- Strong commercial acumen and knowledge of planning and project controls
- Excellent written and verbal communication, including report writing and presentations
- Defence sector project experience (desired)
