Job Details: The Shift Supervisor/Med‑Tech position is located at Seagrass Village of Port Orange in Port Orange, FL. The role assists with resident care, supervises self‑administration of medication, and provides direct supervision to staff during the assigned shift, aiming to enhance the SRIM experience for residents and families.
- Demonstrate and promote SRIM's core value of the Golden Rule, treating others, including residents, families, visitors, and associates, as we would like to be treated.
- Assign team members tasks to be completed during shift, including routine rounds.
- Resolve problems and troubleshoot issues without direction of management; notify proper management of serious issues and consult for appropriate action.
- Provide feedback to Director of Resident Services regarding performance of supervised associates.
- Provide training, orientation, and mentoring to new associates.
- Accept associate call‑offs and find replacement staff as needed.
- Conduct daily care team meetings.
- Conduct skin checks and quarterly summaries.
- Complete cart audits.
- Conduct room checks multiple times a day.
- Provide updates to families, make tuck‑in calls, take phone calls, and check in with visitors.
- Re‑order medications from pharmacy.
- Follow daily assignments for supervisor.
- Review Yardi for missing information within the MORS.
- Supervise self‑administration of medication for residents.
- Assist with ADLs, meal service, light housekeeping, and laundry while encouraging resident independence.
- Interact with residents at all levels of care, showing empathy, kindness, compassion, and respect.
- Observe and report daily changes in residents’ health and emotional well‑being.
- Serve and assist residents in the dining room at breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily.
- Initiate and participate in leisure activities as described in the activity calendar.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment for all residents at all times.
- Perform daily general housekeeping duties following established cleaning schedules.
- Ensure and support a dignified and caring atmosphere for residents, families, visitors, and associates.
- Respond promptly and courteously to resident requests, including phone calls and requests from family members and visitors.
- Ensure residents and/or responsible parties sign out residents when they leave the community.
- Maintain a safe and secure working environment free of hazards that could cause harm or falls.
- Observe and report safety hazards immediately to supervisor.
- Provide assistance to associates when requested or required.
- Know, understand, and follow established policies and procedures in emergency situations.
- Serve as essential personnel during emergencies or inclement weather, remaining on site until released by supervisor.
- Work as a team player with other associates and management to accomplish work assignments.
- Comply with attendance and call‑off policy.
- Attend and/or participate in trainings, in‑service, and mandatory meetings.
- Wear clean and appropriate dress per established dress code policy at all times.
- Know, understand, and comply with HIPAA regulations.
- Take initiative in work, seek additional information, and offer solutions or suggestions without prompting.

Physical Demands: The job requires regular standing, walking, using hands, reaching, and communicating, with frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, and occasional sitting, climbing, or balancing. Employees must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds and may be exposed to blood‑borne pathogens.
Qualifications: Candidates must possess a high school diploma or GED, one to two years of related experience or training, and a Medicine Technician (Med‑Tech) certification. Required abilities include reading and interpreting safety documents, basic math with money and measurements, common‑sense reasoning, and proficiency with word‑processing software and electronic medical records.
