OSP Design Engineer (BC Telecom Experience)

Design, implement, and oversee HFC telecom networks while leading a design team.

Tasks

-Reviewing and approving the final QA/QC before submission -Conduct surveys of existing infrastructure to identify the best locations for new cables & equipment and to ensure the overall success of the HFC network; -Determine the best pathway for cable placement and inform the designer of any roadblocks while identifying other utilities that may be in conflict; -Coordinate with internal teams and external contractors to ensure the timely installation and maintenance of HFC infrastructure; -Advise, train, and guide other designers -Ensure design specifications are maintained -Adhere to appropriate quality standards set out in the design requirements -Plan and design HFC networks, including the selection of appropriate cable types, sizes, and routing; -Review completed design for errors and efficiency

-RRSP match -Proven knowledge of AutoDesign, IQGeo, Comsof, ARMIS, ArcGIS, QGIS, AutoCAD, and other engineering-related software; -Proven knowledge of HFC network architecture, components, best practices, design systems, industry standards, and regulations; -Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing HFC networks; -Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., engineering, environmental science, urban planning); -Experience with Shaw/Rogers infrastructure including planning and design within BC -Minimum of 2 years leading a team of designers/EIT's
