VP, Business Development, Renewable Energy (O&M, EV, Renewable engineering)

Description

• Lead and direct the Business Development team for Solar O&M, EV, and Renewable Engineering.
• Develop and execute segment strategies, including market and competitive assessments.
• Provide pipeline insights and market direction to executive leadership.
• Build and manage a high‑performing BD team with scalable operational practices.
• Oversee creation of RFP responses, proposals, bids, and quotations.
• Use CRM and KPIs to forecast and achieve BD targets.
• Negotiate O&M, service, and maintenance contracts.
• Collaborate with Operations, Finance, Legal, and Accounting to meet company objectives.
• Manage senior strategic customer relationships and address evolving needs.
• Communicate customer requirements across Pearce and drive business improvement initiatives.
• Guide annual planning and forecasting for the business.
• Supervise marketing initiatives and industry engagement.

Requirements

The role requires at least ten years of business development experience, five years managing sales teams, and a decade of power‑generation project development across renewable sectors such as utility‑scale solar, storage, EV, and wind. Candidates must demonstrate strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills, an entrepreneurial mindset, and the ability to thrive in fast‑paced, ambiguous environments. A bachelor’s degree is required, with an MBA preferred.

• 10+ years Business Development experience as both hunter and farmer.
• 5+ years managing sales and account teams.
• 10+ years power generation project development across renewable sectors (utility‑scale solar, storage, EV, wind).
• Proven track record negotiating and closing service and maintenance deals.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and financial modeling skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and negotiation abilities.
• Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and mentoring of teams.
• Ability to thrive in ambiguous, fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environments.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems.
• Willingness to travel 25–50% as needed.
• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.
