The Unified Communications & Network Engineer serves as the technical lead for Wallick Communities’ communications and network ecosystem. This role designs, implements, and maintains enterprise voice, data, video, messaging, collaboration platforms, and the supporting network infrastructure, while also owning the budget and managing vendor relationships.
Key responsibilities include designing and deploying unified communication systems that integrate messaging, voice, video, faxing, and cellular technologies; maintaining and troubleshooting servers, gateways, routers, switches, and related devices; monitoring performance, availability, and security; collaborating with other IT professionals to deliver integrated solutions; documenting procedures and training materials; managing vendor and service‑provider relationships; overseeing cellular voice and data services; and staying current with industry trends and best practices.
Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience, plus at least five years of experience in unified communications and network engineering. Required skills include expertise with Ubiquiti, Microsoft Teams Phone, Yealink, Apple, Polycom, SIP, SBCs, PSTN, QoS, E911, and strong network security knowledge.
The position requires both office and field work, involving extensive computer use and occasional lifting, walking, and traveling. The work environment is an office with moderate noise levels, and travel is required. Employment is contingent upon passing a pre‑employment background check and drug screen.
