Description

This position is to support a Sr. Manager by supervising electrical engineering staff, and to be responsible for the team subset of project management and electrical engineering services. The position will involve coaching other engineers of their projects in their full scope from initial estimating, proposal submission, construction and start-up. The position will also be available to assist manufacturing plants with safety, quality, process optimization and productivity improvements.

• Develop project scopes; estimate equipment, installations, and engineering costs and prepare project schedules for Appropriation Requests.
• Team building, performance coaching, task delegation, and lead other project engineers.
• Complete and/or assist other engineers for all project assignments within established scope, budget, and schedule.
• Oversee field construction activities.
• Lead project start-ups.
• Lead in design of and/or oversee preparation of construction drawings package for capital projects.
• Specification and procurement of equipment and engineering and construction services.
• Work with existing facilities for maintenance, repair and improvement projects.

Requirements

• BS in Electrical Engineering, minimum of 5 years of electrical engineering, Allen-Bradley PLC programming, and iFix HMI, with at least 2-3 years in a lead or supervisor capacity.
• Excellent communication skills.
• The position will be in Charlotte NC, with travel expected to be up to 50% of the time
• Computer skills – Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, networking architecture, setup and troubleshooting, loading software and drivers
• Ability to handle multiple projects.
• Familiarity with National Electrical Code and how to utilize a must.
• Knowledge of AC variable speed drives and their specifications a must
• Experience in wallboard or equivalent manufacturing plant and process a plus
• Familiarity with how to design power and motor circuits is a must.
• Knowledge of transformers, switchgear, and major power components and their specifications.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Familiarity with ARC Flash requirements and NFPA-70 a plus
• Ability to plan and coordinate a project from start to finish.
• Excellent Project Management skills
• Knowledge of Motor Control Centers and their specifications a must
• Ability to specify and set up field instrumentation
• Familiarity of electrical system coordination studies and how to interpret a plus.
