Ensure company’s best practices are implemented in design activities
Identify critical path of engineering deliverables pertaining to assigned area within the facilities design
Accountable to ensure design compliance with project management procedures, design standards (including providing recommendations for improvements), regulatory, environmental, health and safety requirements
Design and specify (independently) in accordance with design codes/specifications/standards/good practice: Steel Pile/Concrete Equipment and Support Foundations and Location Plans
Collaborate with Multi-Disciplinary Designers in planning and layout for more complicated elements of the project
Provide project field support during construction and commissioning activities if/as required
Support the Civil/Structural Lead in the preparation of civil/structural deliverables
Maintain a basic understanding of Civil materials/concepts (soil, loading, roads, etc.) and when to employ what type of design
Monitor project activities including cost and schedule within assigned area. Provide timely updates to management
Coordinate with other Engineering disciplines to ensure comprehensive SOW coverage and interdisciplinary alignment
Structural modelling (or direction thereof) including load calculations
Design and specify (independently) in accordance with design codes/specifications/standards/good practice: Support Drawings and Details, Structural Steel Location Plans, Landings, Crossovers, Stairs & Ladders

Four (4) to eight (8) years’ EPC experience in the Western Canadian Oil & Gas Industry
Min. Education: Civil Engineering Degree is required. Structural steel design experience is considered an asset
Strong written, verbal, analytical and interpersonal skills
Strong ability to work independently
Includes the ability to understand and generate (with designers) the following deliverables (with minimal guidance): Civil Location Plans, Earthworks Drawings, and 3D model generation of civil items (for well sites and small/medium facilities)
Ability and willingness to work under pressure and tight timelines as occasionally demanded by our clients
Must be familiar with the NBC, Provincial Building Codes, Handbook of Steel Construction, Concrete Design Manual, Foundation Engineering Manual
Must have experience with the use of Navis and SFrame software
Must be registered as a P.Eng. in the province of Alberta
