Supporting colleagues and mentoring trainees where required
Highlighting any additional work required and keeping your Supervisor updated
Helping ensure SMT GB standards around safety, quality and environmental care are always met
Installing software updates as they're released
Keeping company tooling in good condition and reporting any defects
Using your own toolkit to complete jobs effectively
Making sure all checks are completed as detailed on the PDI and extras sheet
Looking after your work area and maintaining a professional appearance at all times
Carrying out pre-delivery inspections and machine preparation, including fitting attachments such as buckets, vandal guards, q-fits, radios, reverse cameras and other extras
Attending product and systems training (sometimes staying away from home) to keep your skills up to date

Experience in the preparation and repair of heavy construction plant, including hydraulics and electrics
Basic IT skills (email, systems, technical literature)
A full UK driving licence is desirable, and welding ability would be a bonus
A formal engineering qualification in Plant Maintenance, Agricultural or HGV mechanics (e.g. NVQ2/C&G)
Accurately completing paperwork and real-time PDA inputs to record your work
Confidence in safely handling and driving heavy machinery
Problem-solving and diagnostic skills
A team player with good communication skills, who is responsible, reliable and organised
