The position may involve up to 12‑hour shifts in physically demanding conditions, including climbing, lifting objects up to 50 lb, and frequent hand use. Workers must be able to navigate steel or wood frameworks, ladders, scaffolds, and confined or uneven work areas while adhering to all safety standards and wearing required personal protective equipment such as steel‑toed boots, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hat, and high‑visibility vest.
The Pipefitter Apprentice works under the guidance of Journeyman Pipefitters and other skilled tradespeople to plan, layout, install, fabricate, maintain, and repair piping systems in line with plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards. This role is designed to provide hands‑on training appropriate to the apprentice’s experience level, requiring the ability to take direction, follow instructions, and work safely under supervision.
Candidates should have up to two years of experience in industrial or commercial construction, or be enrolled in a recognized pipefitter apprenticeship program. Preference is given to those who have completed the NCCER Core Curriculum or hold a high school diploma/GED, and who are willing to engage in formal apprenticeship training and on‑the‑job learning. Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to follow instructions are essential.
