What you would be doing

Provide technical solution for substations comprising SLD, KLD, technical information, and associated detail drawings and documents by established applicable standards, processes and customer specifications through allocated resources remotely.
Ensure that any design-related clarifications, changes, or updates are well understood and incorporated into site activities.
Reviewing supplier deliverables based on project specifications and standards.
Participate in technical discussions with customers and suppliers, handle site queries and take necessary actions up to as-built documentation
Ensuring all design changes are managed in accordance with the design change management process defined as per client procedures
Review of building services design packages as per client requirements
Act as the main point of contact for addressing technical queries (TQs) raised on site related to the MEP design, and provide timely and accurate responses to support uninterrupted site progress.
Prepare Design Intent Document (DID) / Functional Design Specification (FDS) based on supplier inputs
Review and certify the design packages
Provide technical support and to develop tender scheme options and related project scope documents.
Submitting completed Design Packages for Design Compliance Audit
Review of Suppliers design and Factory acceptance test plans.
Overall responsible for managing & leading all MEP engineering activities from project start till the As-Built stage with strict adherence to Project Specifications & Linxon standards including QA/QC, HSSE & Integrity.
Instruct, supervise & coordinate with other engineering team within Linxon (local & remote), internal & external partners, sub-suppliers, secondary engineers & civil engineers.
Follow up on MEP works at site during execution as required, to ensure proper implementation in line with the approved design and specifications.
Prepare bill of quantities (PEMS), deviations & clarifications for technical solutions.
Attending Design Review meetings (DRMs) and Hazard review meetings (HRMs) as required
Support site team during execution stage.
Coordinate with suppliers and reviewing their deliverables. Check remote end requirements and provide input to supplier.
Provide technical calculations and schedules for all equipment for projects or tenders.
What you bring

Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or working towards it
RFQs but not limited to building services and related activity
Contractor Design approval engineer (CDAE) building service certification from National Grid.
Be familiar with Substation control system and its architecture
MEP design but not limited to review of heating, ventilation, fire strategy, SLD, AC & DC distribution systems, battery and battery chargers sizing, voltage drop, cable sizing, signal lists, setting calculation, interface lists, cable block diagrams, multicore & fiber optic cable schedules, and cables core sheets, etc.
Master or Bachelor’s degree in an Electrical or Mechanical engineering discipline with ability to demonstrate experience delivering complex projects in the transmission market.
Expert knowledge in Substation building services and its AC & DC system calculation, compilation of signal list, setting calculation, interface engineering and preparing cable schedules
Excellent in communication, to interact with external and internal parties at all levels in a multi-cultural environment.
Fluency in English – both written and spoken
Completion of the relevant section of the DID / FDS
Strong in MS Office, knowledge in MicroStation and AutoCAD is required.
