The Assembler I role involves wiring, assembling, fitting, and mounting subassemblies, components, and standard fixed assemblies in electrical control equipment. The employee will also perform assembly or wiring required for test preparation and final inspection, using established power‑checking procedures to verify electrical and mechanical integrity. All work must meet quantity and perfect quality requirements.
Assignments are carried out from oral or written instructions, drawings, or other manufacturing information, with materials handled according to established procedures. The assembler is responsible for routine maintenance of plant equipment in the assigned area and for inspecting and testing finished products to ensure conformance with specifications and codes. Progress of jobs is tracked, and any problem areas or part shortages are communicated promptly.
Finished products are prepared for shipment, carriers are called, and materials are loaded into carrier vehicles. The employee must observe good housekeeping and safety practices, perform 5S duties, and keep equipment, tools, and the work area clean and orderly. Physical demands include lifting up to 35 lb, with reasonable accommodation as required, and participation in health‑and‑safety improvement initiatives.
No relocation benefit is offered for this position, though Active‑Duty Military candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. The assembler must know and follow established job‑specific and facility‑wide health and safety procedures, report hazards, develop job safety analyses, and maintain housekeeping and safety equipment in good condition.
Required qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, at least one year of manufacturing or assembly experience, and basic computer skills. A degree in a technical discipline and experience in electrical equipment manufacturing—particularly panelboards or switchboards—is preferred. The candidate must be proficient with manual, electric, and pneumatic tools, drill presses, press brakes, forklifts, jib cranes, and measuring and testing equipment, and be able to work effectively in a small team.
