Finance Manager - Gross Margin

Description

• Provide analysis and insight and support other teams to improve margin (e.g. pricing of our innovative Time Of Use tariffs)

The team also sits at the centre of our global Octopus Energy group, supporting our teams from New Zealand to the US with best practices, and helps to prepare for key industry changes like Market-Wide Half-Hourly Settlement.

• Provide timely, accurate and insightful Gross Margin financial reporting at Month End and Year End
• Review month end financial reporting, and lead on year end audit from the Gross Margin team’s perspective
• Present results to the wider team and communicate clearly with senior management
• Build and prioritise our roadmap, and drive forward projects to improve the accuracy and scope of our reporting and analysis, balancing multiple stakeholders and competing priorities
• Business partner with various teams across the business and drive actionable insights from the Gross Margin reporting
• Develop and inspire the incredible team of accountants who run our Gross Margin reporting

Requirements

• C: Leadership and management experience
• B: Data experience (especially of complex data pipelines and perhaps hands-on skills in SQL/Python)
• We aren’t necessarily looking for someone who is “10-out-of-10” in all these areas; but rather someone who has good experience in most of them, combined with a flexible and enthusiastic approach
• A: Financial experience (probably as an ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified accountant)
• To be able to do this role well you’ll need a combination of these four areas:

This is a hybrid role based out of our London office. Our expectation is that you spend at least 3 days a week in the office so that you can build relationships and collaborate with colleagues across the business.
