Support the rollout of STREAMS including training activities, process updates, and workforce readiness tasks assigned by the Manager or Lead.
Assist with responding to escalations from municipalities, customers, or internal partners and elevate issues to the Lead or Manager when appropriate.
Support training for designers including onboarding, updates to standards, and updates to National Grid systems.
Provide technical guidance to designers on routine design questions and escalate more complex issues to a Lead Engineering Supervisor or Manager as needed.
Participate in department initiatives focused on improving design quality, work processes, and system updates.
Supervise a team of Distribution Designers to support the delivery of accurate and buildable overhead and underground electric distribution designs for customer work and asset work.
Ensure designers follow National Grid processes, design standards, safety requirements, and data entry expectations within National Grid systems.
Maintain compliance with collective bargaining agreements and support a safe and productive work environment.
Maintain effective working relationships with municipalities, customers, field operations, and other internal stakeholders.
Support the Manager with workload monitoring and resource coordination as requested.
Review and approve designs for accuracy, completeness, material correctness, constructability, and adherence to National Grid construction standards.
Identify routine design trends or issues and bring forward recommendations or observations that may improve consistency and reduce errors.
Support storm restoration efforts by coordinating design work and providing technical assistance to field crews.

Bachelor degree in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering required.
Experience providing technical guidance or support to design or engineering staff.
Four to six years of experience in electric distribution design, engineering, or operations.
Valid driver license with a safe driving record
Working knowledge of National Grid construction standards, National Grid systems, and electric distribution work practices.
Strong communication and organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
