  • Bring innovative ideas and mitigate risk to business continuity
  • Ensure procurement processes are followed, from conception to close-out, in accordance with Irving Oil Supply Management Policy and practices
  • Mentor, lead, and coach team members to support continued learning and development
  • In conjunction with business stakeholders, manage the development and implementation of sourcing strategies, associated bid, evaluation and award processes, contract performance, including supplier performance and relationships, all in accordance with Irving Oil’s strategic priorities
  • Ensure best practices are applied and aligned with the needs of business stakeholders
  • Assist business units in identifying, quantifying, reporting of value addition and/or continuous improvement opportunities related to end-to-end Supply
  • Establish spend visibility and analysis capabilities
  • Establish a good understanding of product costing methods and product cost structure and price comparisons within product groupings
  • Proactively monitor and address Supply Chain risks within your area of responsibility
  • Lead the team in identifying and implementing efficiency measures through effective planning, process streamlining and staff development

  • 7+ years of experience leading cross functional teams
  • Strong analytical thinking skills with excellent attention to detail
  • University degree in Business or related field
  • MBA would be an asset
  • Strong risk management skills and continuous improvement mindset
  • Ability to quickly identify critical aspects of issues, creatively use data sources, structure complex analysis, develop recommendations and influence stakeholders
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Strong communication skills, including presenting skills
  • Supply Management Professional (SCMP) designation would be an asset
  • Knowledge of legal precedents and contract law and management related to procurement
  • Ability to develop strategic visions and create plans for implementation
  • Experience in navigating in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple stakeholders
  • You will bring a deep experience of leading supply management teams, working with suppliers, managing supply risks, delivering value creation, driving accountability and bringing innovative ideas and approaches and in addition:
  • 10-15 years of experience in Supply Management
  • High level of knowledge in procurement and supply management practices
  • Strong leadership capabilities and a collaborative approach to leadership
  • Ability to establish projects, provide structure and articulate goals
