Civil Engineer

Description

As a Civil Engineer, you’ll play a key part in coordinating on-site civil and electrical works. You’ll support day-to-day project activities, help manage schedules and documentation, and work closely with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to keep everything moving in the right direction.

• Support identification of scope changes and contribute to discussions around additional costs.
• Review project designs and drawings and assist with creating baseline programmes using Microsoft Project.
• Work collaboratively with clients, consultants, and subcontractors to resolve design or coordination issues.
• Grow your technical skills across both civil and electrical disciplines.
• Monitor schedules, track progress, and prepare clear updates and technical reports.
• Ensure electrical installations comply with statutory regulations and industry standards.
• Assist with preparing RAMS, electrical safety procedures, and other HSEQ documentation.
• Help identify risks, delays, and critical path activities, and assist with extension-of-time claims.
• Carry out inspections and support site audits to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and electrical standards.
• Review project costs and highlight any variances, offering practical solutions when needed.
• Prepare and issue the required project documentation in line with contract requirements.
• Provide technical support to on-site teams, including Site Agents, Supervisors, and QS staff.

Requirements

Design Build Search is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join our clients team based in West Dublin.

• Background in civil engineering with experience in electrical project delivery is a strong advantage.
• Solid understanding of electrical systems (power distribution, utilities, street lighting, infrastructure connections) and associated civil works.
• Full driving licence.
• Strong communication skills and a proactive, problem-solving approach.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Project.
• Experience as a Project Engineer within electrical engineering, utilities, or civil infrastructure.
