Reinforcing our brand as a leader in water treatment through active participation in industry organizations, thought leadership, and communication with strategic clients, and

Positioning and Pursuit – Collaborate with regional growth leaders and account managers to (1) develop relationships with key clients and increase client awareness of our capabilities, (2) connect internal subject matter experts and project technical leads to strategic pursuits, and develop winning technical approaches, and (3) identify new project opportunities related to priority sector growth areas.
Strategy and Brand – Maintain knowledge of sector-related industry drivers and trends, regulations, and technologies across North America and globally. Use this knowledge to (1) identify and prioritize opportunities to support our clients with emerging challenges; (2) strategically grow our technical capabilities and people resources to meet client needs; and (3) foster a strong industry brand that differentiates Stantec among our peers. Implement branding strategies to promote Stantec and the sector in the industry; take on leadership roles in national and international professional trade organizations; and manage effective conference participation within the sector to maximize Stantec’s brand presence.
Thinks strategically about the technologies, regulations, range of market, business and/or economic issues likely to impact the sector. Uses this information to develop strategies for sector development and growth.

Delivering Excellence – Recruit and retain a distributed team of exceptional sector professionals, across all career levels and geographies. Connect sector practitioners with project managers and delivery experts across applicable disciplines to plan and deliver high quality, innovative solutions. Work with Delivery leaders and Water’s Innovation Leader to support the development of digital delivery tools, innovative approaches, and new technologies.
Help recruit, retain, and inspire a team of water treatment professionals, at multiple levels, with exceptional technical skills.
Champions innovative ideas and initiatives and creates an environment that supports innovation. Leads the implementation of emerging technologies with a focus on potential challenges and appropriate courses of action.
Regularly engage with clients.
Deliver blogs, seminars, webinars, workshops, articles and trade publications, developed personally or through the sector team, to advance Stantec’s brand, in coordination with Water’s PR and communications team.
Contribute to our North America Water Treatment Team to implement our strategy across the continent and bring services and specialists from the broader Stantec organization to our clients.
Engage in delivery of water projects as a subject matter expert, leveraging your expertise, industry best practices, and new or innovative technologies.
Embraces inclusion and diversity and integrates it into strategy and culture.
Leverage your understanding of the industry drivers, market trends, and legislative requirements in the US South to support and grow our water treatment portfolio.

High degree of technical proficiency
Leadership, change management, communication, team building skills, and strategic thinking are essential for the success of this position.
Minimum of twelve (12) years of related work experience including design, engineering, leadership, and business development experience preferred
Professional Licensure or willing to obtain licensure within one year.
Highly organized and self-motivated, resilient under stress, team oriented.
Minimum bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering, or a related field, from an accredited institution. Master’s or PhD degree, preferred.
Advanced and proven business development skills with an entrepreneurial orientation, including experience negotiating, building, and maintaining productive relationships with clients and key stakeholders
Ability to lead and inspire teams with a strong commitment to meeting goals and upholding Stantec’s values and policies.
Demonstrated understanding of the US South market with established working relationships with pertinent organizations.
Located in the US South, with ability to travel throughout North America.
Regular participation in Stantec ERG (employee resource groups), DPG (developing professional groups), or similar participation.
Experienced and visible industry leader in delivering complex stormwater treatment projects who is knowledgeable of sector technical strategies.
