The operator will complete daily Task Hazard Analysis logs, recognize and communicate hazards, and assist the survey crew with field stake‑out of roads, bridges, buildings, and other properties. Responsibilities also include operating and setting up surveying instruments, transferring grid lines and elevations, positioning vertical rods for measurements, and maintaining equipment in proper condition.
STV is seeking a Survey Instrument Operator for its DFW, Texas locations. The role involves using a Trimble Robotic Total Station with Trimble Access software to set points, boundaries, lines, and elevations. Candidates should have at least one year of experience as an Instrument Man and strong knowledge of construction staking, level loops, and GPS site calibration.
Applicants must be able to work with minimal supervision, possess basic mathematics skills, and understand construction terminology. They should be comfortable handling common hand and power tools, lifting up to 50 lb, working in confined spaces, and having reliable transportation for night‑shift assignments. A self‑motivated, team‑oriented attitude and dependable attendance are required.
